Frustration Over Brunch

"To conquer frustration, one must remain intensely focused on the outcome, not the obstacles." - T.F. Hodge

Welcome to a late, late edition of Sunday Brunch here at Holy Shock. I hope you guys are having a great day. I know if you read that quote above, then you probably are assuming that I have not been having a great day. Well, let's just say that 2013 as a whole, has not been a great; however, I really do not feel like talking about all of my issues, problems, or whatever else people label the bad things in life. Instead I wanted to take a moment and remind the readers of Holy Shock that no matter what life throws at you, just stay focused on the end game!

I know that is pretty deep compared to the usual stuff that I post around here, but Sundays are the grab bag of posts. Sometimes they may be about gaming or the site here, and other times, as I once said in the disclaimer for the Sunday Brunch series, they may be about me and what I am dealing with in my life (be it in game or out).

I do have a couple quick things to mention! The first is that I am not going to be continuing with the auction house reports for the short term. I just have not had the time available to dedicate to this series, both in game and here at the blog. I have really enjoyed doing that particular series, and so hopefully in the future we will be able to bring it back.

I am really pleased with the views on my YouTube channel for the content that has been going up there. If you haven't checked it out, then please make sure to subscribe to the channel and tell me what you like and what you don't like. Right now I am uploading videos every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Right now the channel has been mostly focused on World of Wacraft with the occasional Minecraft video. Moving forward, I am wanting to start uploading some Hearthstone videos and bring back some form of Minecraft. So if you guys have any preferences, then make sure and let me know.

I have dabbled with live streaming on and off over the last few months, but I just feel like my system is too old to really do it justice. Having said that, I am going to work over the next couple weeks to see if I can't find a way to stream some sort of content at least one or two days a week. It is more of a technology problem versus anything else.

I have been playing a lot of Hearthstone lately. I am really enjoying that game! I also have spent a few hours playing Path of Exile (PoE). I have to admit that it is everything that Diablo III should have been. That being said, I find I do not enjoy playing the dungeon crawler games alone. I can see my interest already fading in PoE. I have really been fighting the urge to beam back up to Star Trek Online (STO). I blame Blizzcon for that. How can I do that you ask? Well, when they introduced the garrison concept and how you would find/recruit followers, it made me reminisce of my crews on board the S.S. T.N.A.!

Well, today's post was a little different than the usual Sunday Brunch, but that happens every now and then. Are you all playing anything exciting or new? Let me know in the comments section! I hope you all have a great rest of your day and I will see you next time!

Need... More... Help...

So last week I made a proclamation that there would be a post this week updating the status of what was going on with the auction house! Well, that isn't happening once again because I simply have not had time to list things. This has brought me to the conclusion that I need to clone myself!

Just imagine how much better the world would be with a group of me running around! Well, since the cloning idea is probably gonna take some time, not to mention a whole lot of petri dishes, I better come up with a better game plan.

The good news is that I have been spending a lot of time doing a whole lot of things. Some of those things I can share with you, while other things I am simply unable to share at the present time. The biggest time sink of late has been the darn Hearthstone Beta. It seems just when I was starting to break the bindings of Blizzard (that should be an item in one of their games by the way), they introduce me to some brand new shiny that just sucks all will power right out!

I am not going to lie, the game is a ton of fun and I am excited for when it goes live. I was talking with a friend and fellow gamer at work yesterday about it and he suggested that I do some posts about the different deck types and strategies involved in the game. I am seriously considering doing this, but simply from my perspective. Light knows I have managed to put together some pretty fun decks and had a lot of fun playing crazy combination cards! We have several people within our gaming community that has actually received invitations to the beta and so I am trying to put together some sort of tournament for fun. If I do this, then I will definitely be posting up the results of how I crush them!

Speaking of the gaming community, we have been working extremely hard over the last several months adding new features to our forums and making plans to update the site with a lot of cool features. It is pretty exciting to actually see the community grow and expand. Along the lines of growth, due to our branching out and covering a wide range of games we took a pretty big step by retiring the Mass Affluent Slayers Gaming Community and relaunching under the Game Slayer Nation!

I am pretty proud of the growth in the community and I would certainly invite all of you who read my blog to stop by the community and get involved. Over the next several months there are going to be a lot of changes and a lot of good things happening and I would love for all of you to be a part of it. So join the Nation!

Again, I am sorry that I did not get to post up an auction house report today, but I hope you all can understand that my time has just been really tight lately and sadly it doesn't seem to be changing any time soon. With that said, allow me to share the latest video (just posted to YouTube a few minutes ago) from The Usual Suspects series I am doing on YouTube!
